Heart of Te Pahu

Our fantastic Preschool is in the heart of our wonderful rural community. Overlooked by Mount Pirongia, we offer a small, friendly early childhood service to Te Pahu, Whatawhata, Pirongia, and the wider community.

Feels like home

Our passionate teachers (kaiako) provide the children (tamariki) and family (whānau) with support and respect. We are constantly innovating, with new ideas and research inspiring our teachers (kaiako). Have a read about what makes Te Pahu Preschool a wonderful place for your children and family.

Playing in nature

All our children are active gardeners and we encourage them to nurture our vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, and herb garden.

Our preschool tamariki regularly do Forest Schooling where they spend the day visiting the Kaniwhaniwha stream and exploring the forest at its banks.

Handpicked and natural resources

The rolling Pirongia hills are the perfect backdrop for our fantastic outdoor play area. Our centre features high quality play equipment and a diverse range of hand-selected natural resources. Complete with comfy couches and cosy rugs, our fun and playful aesthetic will put your children at ease.

Inspired by and immersed in nature

Completely enclosed and generous in size, it is the perfect place for outdoor play, open-ended exploration and self-discovery. Our bright and beautiful activity room flows out onto our large covered courtyard, giving all our tamariki the chance to interact, learn and grow together.
